Gefangen in einer lieblosen Ehe, fristet die junge Galdmandur Elisabeth ein tristes und unglückliches Leben. Fernab ihrer Familie, ausgeschlossen von ihrem Volk und dazu verdammt, ihre Magie vor den Menschen zu verbergen, bemüht sie sich, ihr Schicksal anzunehmen. Doch gerade, als sie glaubt, ihren Weg gefunden zu haben, steht ein Elf vor ihr und wirbelt ihr Leben und ihre Gefühle gehörig durcheinander. Das magische Wesen verzaubert sie auf eine Art, die sie niemals für möglich gehalten hätte.
