Nero Wolfe was a detective radio show whose stories were derived from the work of Rex Stout. Nero, an extremely genius guy who stands 5'11", solved crimes without having to go to the crime scenes. His assistant Archie Goodwin did all the gathering of clues and interviewing of witnesses, which were then interpreted by Nero at home.

Under normal circumstances, the last page of a manuscript would be absolutely worthless unless you’d read all the preceding pages, but in this instance, the final page held the answer to a murder, and without that page, they couldn’t arrive at the solution. Actually, they didn’t even know the problem....

When Archie answered the phone, it was a Mr. Jenkins stating that he was due there an hour ago but was late because someone was killed. Mr. Jenkins turned out to be just the delivery man with an important note containing five $100 bills and an invitation to spend the weekend at Mr. Mailots. However, upon arriving at the Mailots, Archie was to learn that the invitation had not come from Mr. Mailot.
