The Mummy!: A Tale of the Twenty-Second Century is a science-fiction classic. First published in 1827, it tells the story of a mummy from Cheops that is brought back to life in the year 2126.

A selection of writings about gardens and gardening by six 19th-century women, compiled by Dee Palmer, a journalist and writer with a special interest in gardening. When she started the research for this audiobook, she expected to find many differences between the experiences of 19th-century women gardeners and those of today. Instead, she was struck by how modern much of their advice is, and her personal selection from the writings of these six women reflects that.

Published anonymously in three volumes in 1827, when the author was only 17 years old, The Mummy! is, as she describes it herself, a strange, wild novel that - "to an audience nearer her future than when Loudon imagined it" - is filled with striking similarities to our modern world, including a form of the internet.
