Four amateur sleuths muck and muddle their way through mysterious disappearances and deaths in the barnyard.

Inquisitive, detail-oriented Veterinarian Kristin Keller prides herself on winning over any dog. But has this self proclaimed dog whisperer finally met her match in a Sheltie named Remington who has just won the Texas state agility course competition? The champion pooch is acting out of sorts—almost as if he is not the same dog. Has he, by chance, been switched out with another dog just before the next big competition? Kristin and the other Lone Star employees will do anything to help the Atkinson family figure out this mystery surrounding their beloved Remington.

Marigold Evans first attempt at rescuing an abandoned pooch lands her in the underground sewer lines of Houston's Buffalo Bayou...and almost in jail, until Parker Jenson comes to her defense. Then a bad day only gets worse as the Lone Star Vet Clinic, where they both work, is vandalized and the list of suspects starts to climb. With the help of her fellow employees, Marigold sets out to simultaneously solve the crime, rehab the rescued dog, and help more dogs in crisis. But why would anyone continue to work against all their good efforts?

It's less than a week until Christmas in Mabank, Texas, and just a few days away from RaeLyn and Mason's wedding on Hadley ranch. Unfortunately, a wildfire with mysterious origin is rapidly traveling across several counties and headed right for the Hadley acreage. Fire fighters rush to put it out before the family homestead goes up in flames, taking the business and the old red truck with it. Lone Star groomer Isabel Fuentes adopts a feisty rescued dachshund, and the two are inseparable … until Texans quarterback Corey Wallis announces a large reward for his missing female dachshund. Suddenly all of Houston are on the lookout for the MIA pooch that bears a strong resemblance to Isabel’s new pup. Isabel contacts Corey, but soon Ginger goes missing and Isabel is convinced Corey and his agent took her for a publicity stunt. Then there is a reporter who could be trying to manufacture a great story or a cameraman seeking the big reward. Will there be a happy ending for Ginger?

The Hadley family ranch is struggling, so Raelynn, her parents, and brothers decide to turn the old barn into an antique store. The only thing missing to go with the marketing of the store is Grandpa's old red truck, Tilly, that was sold several years ago. Now coming back up on the auction block, Tilly would need a lot of work, but Raelynn is sure it will be worth it—if only she can beat out other bidders and find out who stole Tilly after the auction ends. Hadley finds herself in the role of amateur sleuth, and the outcome could make or break the new family venture.

The Hadley family's new antique business is open and running well with Tilly, the red antique truck, as its mascot. Raelynn Hadley is happy to see her friend Tasha open a new bed-and-breakfast inn to accommodate the area's growing tourism, but a fire threatens to spoil all Tasha has worked for. Raelynn immediately gets to work sleuthing out who could be behind such an act of sabotage. Could it be the nearby resort owner, the daughter of the house's former owner, a neighbor, or a squatter who had been living in the house before renovations?
