Lady Windermere’s Fan: A Play About a Good Woman by Oscar Wilde is a play in four acts about a marriage teetering on the edge of destruction and the drama that surrounds the family while they seek resolution. This play was Wilde’s first foray into comedies and was his first successful play that would earn a profit from its performances. The play follows the young Lady Windermere as she begins to believe that her husband is having an affair.

Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility is a classic staple of English literature. Published in 1811, this novel tells the story of the Dashwood ladies - Elinor, Marianne, and Margaret - as their family is forced to move to a new estate. Elinor and Marianne, the oldest of the trio, come of age in a tumultuous time, and the novel focuses on their romances, tribulations, and relationships with one another as they grow up.

Emma Woodhouse has successfully played matchmaker for her friend and discovers that she has a taste for setting up romances for her friends. She gets to work meddling in her friends’ affair, convincing them to call off imminent engagements and relationships in favor of ones she creates. The matchmaking quickly gets out of Emma’s hands, and her actions and instructions begin harming the people she cares about.
