Jesus was a Jew. His mother, Mary was a Jew. - Finally, contemporary scholarship brings into focus Jesus’ Jewish roots/heritage. For centuries, the Jewishness of Jesus was ignored and this had enormous consequences, the attempts over the centuries to suppress this truth have led to heresies. Paul’s great letter is presented as an extension of the Sermon on the Mount.
