Jesus was a Jew. His mother, Mary was a Jew. - Finally, contemporary scholarship brings into focus Jesus’ Jewish roots/heritage. For centuries, the Jewishness of Jesus was ignored and this had enormous consequences, the attempts over the centuries to suppress this truth have led to heresies. The 1st Century Jewish conception of the role of the priest, prophet, and messiah are all explained. Fr. Doyle shows how the Jewish prayer life and feasts affected Jesus.

Paul’s great letter is presented as an extension of the Sermon on the Mount. Under the power of the Spirit, he cast a light on a darkened and depraved world so that his readers could be transformed into instruments of light and become powerful manifestations of God’s love and forgiveness in the midst of the world.
