Summary

Doc Ford, marine biologist and sometimes assassin, ramps up the action in balmy Sanibel Island, Florida, in this series of thrillers.
 

After 10 years on the job as a secret operative and trained killer, it was hard for Marion “Doc” Ford to get that addiction to danger out of his system. But, lulled by cool gulf breezes, he’s grown to like his quiet, solitary life on Sanibel Island, working as a marine biologist. Still, he can’t say no when friends and enemies from his past require his services. Taut and suspenseful, these thrillers follow Doc Ford, ex-CIA agent, as he confronts shady land developers, treasure hunters on sunken ships, and Latino gangs in his little corner of Florida; takes on organized crime and corruption in Central America or Cuba; gets caught up in webs of murder and revenge; and acts as an assassin for the feds. Complex characters and an extraordinary sense of place add to the appeal of each tale of intrigue and danger.
 

George Guidall is a masterful storyteller who gives this spy his due. The celebrated, multiple Audie Award-winning performer is an ideal fit for Doc Ford. With his dry tone and excellent timing, Guidall sounds like a most welcome house guest sharing his fascinating life stories. Installments in the series are just as expertly narrated by Dick Hill and Ron McLarty.
 

Randy Wayne White is acclaimed as "wildly inventive" (The San Diego Union-Tribune) and "the rightful heir to John D. MacDonald" (The Tampa Tribune-Times). He is the best-selling author of the Hannah Smith series, the Hawker series (writing as Carl Ramm), and four collections of nonfiction in addition to his Doc Ford thrillers. He lives in an old house built on an Indian mound in Pineland, Florida.
