Metaphysical Thriller

Questo romanzo di Gustav Meyrink, scrittore ed esoterista, viene pubblicato nel 1917, subito dopo il grande successo de "Il Golem", ma in realtà venne scritto in contemporanea al Golem dal 1906 al 1916, e il parallelo tra le due città, Praga e Amsterdam, è molto interessante. Anche questo romanzo, intriso di magia e di mistero, ci porterà in una spirale di suggestioni e riflessioni verso quello che era l'obiettivo dell'autore: la profonda conoscenza di se stessi.
