David Michael is a Senior Partner at The Boston Consulting Group. He founded and led the firm's global advantage practice. Formerly based in Beijing for more than 10 years, he led BCG's business in China, and he has had continuous interactions with China since the late 1980s. He joined BCG in 1992 after completing a BA in economics at Harvard University, an MBA at Stanford University, and a Rotary Scholarship at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is coauthor of Asia's Digital Dividends: How Asia-Pacific's Corporations Can Create Value from E-Business (2000), and has written articles published in Harvard Business Review and Bloomberg Businessweek. He is a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Emerging Multinationals. From 2004 to 2009, he served on the Strategy Advisory Board of China Mobile Corporation, one of China's five largest companies and the world's largest telecom operator.
