Dr. Timothy C. Winegard is a New York Times, National, and International Bestselling and Award-Winning author. His books have been published globally in seventeen languages. Winegard has appeared on numerous documentaries, television programs, podcasts, and other media outlets. He is also a history professor, hockey coach, and self-proclaimed Jedi. He received his MA in War Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada and his PhD in History from the University of Oxford. He served as an officer with the Canadian Armed Forces, including an attachment to the British Army. His books include: the National and International Bestseller and Award-Winning, The Horse: A Galloping History of Humanity (2024); the New York Times, LA Times, and International Bestseller, The Mosquito: A Human History of Our Deadliest Predator (2019); The First World Oil War (2016); For King and Kanata: Canadian Indians and the First World War (2012); Indigenous Peoples of the British Dominions and the First World War (2011); and, Oka: A Convergence of Cultures and the Canadian Forces (2008). Winegard is an Associate Professor of History at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. As a true Canadian, he is also the head coach of Colorado Mesa University's Hockey Team.
