Publisher's Summary

The human body evolved to live well and fight off disease on a supply of only a dozen or so essential nutrients. Unfortunately, modern meat-laden, high-sugar diets provide catastrophically inadequate levels of those nutrients. Scientific research consistently indicates nationwide vitamin and mineral deficiencies in our country, and we spend over a trillion dollars each year on disease care. Andrew Saul has seen enough of this situation, and in Doctor Yourself, he gives you the power you need to change it.

Dr. Saul explodes the myth that an army of medical specialists and pharmaceutical drugs are necessary to maintain our health. Using the protocols laid out in Doctor Yourself, you not only can prevent disease from getting a foothold in the first place, you can also cure yourself of illness already in progress, without resorting to drugs or surgery.

Critic Reviews

"Must reading for anyone seriously interested in health and doubtful about the efficacy of conventional medicine." (John Moelaert, author of The Cancer Conspiracy)
"Thank you, Dr. Saul, for making this information more available and thus promoting the development of the medicine of the 21st century, orthomolecular medicine." (Abram Hoffer, M.D., author of Putting It All Together: The New Orthomolecular Nutrition)

You Are What You Eat

"You Are What You Eat" Those words should stick into you for the rest of your life. Every time you pick up something to put into your body, take a moment to adjust yourself and repeat those words. This book is not about dieting. although you will benefit as if it was. this book is meant to open your eyes to self healing, nutritional facts, and to motivate you to learn how your inner body works. i have listened to this book several times as I commute to work, and it has inspired me to learn more about my inner body, than ever before. i believe now, that if we can understand our inner body and what it needs to function properly, we will make the right choices on our food intake.

Thanks
Mike

By far the best and most helpful book on health

I'm on a mission to find nutritional ways to help my son with Autism, ADHD and epilepsy. Because if the vast amount of information in the book, I had to purchase the physical book after finishing the audio book. A must have book for anyone that wants to take control of their own health.
I also were advocates for my parents prior to their death. Aside if catching medical mistakes on multiple occasions, it was evident that the medical community is only interested treated symptoms with drugs and not treating or trying to cure underlying issues. If only I knew then what I know now about high dose vitamin C and other nutrients, perhaps my parents would still be alive today.

I'm still trying to figure out why my son's neurologist never ordered blood work to see if maybe a severe nutrient deficiency is what caused my son's sudden onset of epilepsy...not to worry, found a new doctor and taking his care into my own hands and exploring all root causes now.
Thank you to Dr Saul for bringing it to my attention.

Changed my life... I feel so much better!

Easy to listen to, that's a first in health books for me. I feel better than I ever have.
I've been prescription-free for the last 3 years.
This book made me realize the media and government has it all wrong. They are paid to do so by pharmaceutical companies. Our medical industry makes $$$ when we are sick. Now that's really crazy! Why would they want us all to be well? Thank you, Dr Saul!

Audio is not the right format for this book.

While this book may be full of useful information, this format is terrible for it. I wish I would have purchased a paper copy of the book instead.

One of The Most Practical Books on Nutrition...

This is one of the most practical books on nutrition I've read! It not only gives you natural cures for a lot of common illnesses, it gives you inexpensive ones you can try yourself - orthomolecular nutrition using megavitamins, juicing, diet, etc. to treat depression, cancer, arthritis, receding gums, viruses, etc. And, it was entertaining and informative to listen to with common sense, references to other research (Weston A. Price, etc.), personal experience, etc.

This book was everything I expected & more!!!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in gaining their health back from chronic illness. Ton of valuable information you will not be dissapointed. Also check out "The Gerson Therapy" by Charlotte Gerson if you have any chronic disease like cancer, arthritis, eczema or even migrain headaches (virtually any disease). Thank you Dr Andrew Saul for writting this book.

Literally a life saver

This book is one that I buy every time I see it. I have several copies right now. I give it away and invariably get a call months later from the person I gave it to and they say “this book changed my life.”

Please read it. Listen it to. Follow it. It can save your life or someone you love.

I love Dr. Andrew Saul!!!

Easy to listen to and understand! I feel very inspired! On 15,000 mg vitamin c a day! He is hilarious and this book was a pleasure to listen too! I've passed on his advice to many friends and family members and really recommend the movie Food Matters, where I first found Dr. Saul!! Enjoy and good luck!!

Purchase this book TODAY, not tomorrow.

There is not a single person that I wouldn't recommend this book to. No exceptions.
This is a no nonsense, amusingly written, completely practical, non hairy fairy, well documented and excellently reasoned book.

Everyone Should Listen

Provides simple, easily followed instructions to improve your health easily. Wish I'd known all this years ago.
Makes so much sense and love the fact he's not selling anything! Makes everything he states all the more believable.
Since introducing large doses of Vitamin C never constipated, why haven't doctors been telling me this?!
Simplicity itself!

Valuable knowledge. Fire your doctor!

Priceless information from start to finish. Enjoyed listening to it and learnt things that I'm sure the doctor will never tell me. For those that consider health to be their wealth, this is a must listen.

Needs chapter markers

I'm tentatively agreeing with the contents of this book, but I'm not convinced that big pharma is really holding back natural cures -- if this was true they'd actually be cashing in on it.

But, conspiracies aside, there's certainly a lot of evidence in favour of high vitamin dosage.

The book needs chapter markers or a PDF -- it's hard to navigate as an audiobook!

I love the Ideal

What made the experience of listening to Doctor Yourself the most enjoyable?
The Idea of treating oneself, well it well maybe a minefield, but no less so than a disinterested doctor on their usual very tight time schedule, that is what is often the case only too often. Andrew Saul does come across rather well. If you care to believe only a part of his dialog, well he may well be streets ahead of the usual doctor approach - " Well maybe we should now try so and so" . It seems to me after a fairly long life with quite a few train wrecks along the way with the usual medications, I'm opting for a lot more vitamins and dropping most pills as prescribed.

Would you be willing to try another book from Andrew Saul Ph.D.? Why or why not?
Certainly

What does Patrick Cullen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
A lot of rest for tired eyes. His presentation I find is rather easy to take in.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Emotion is not a good thing to gauge your health with. Cold hard reason, if possible might be much better. Though enjoying a joke or two does help to let the medicine go down.

Any additional comments?
Theory is one thing, but too dip the feet in the water is much, so much better. Applying some of the methods described here plus good Counsel is about the best thing to help us through the minefield of health services. We are given some rather good advice here, wrapped with a bit of disdain, Well life is for the takers?

Great information!

I found this book full of helpful information and I want to try using some of the supplements with my family. I bought the book on audible but think I need to buy a hard copy as a future reference point. Very impressed.
