Publisher's Summary
Years of abuse at the hands of her father has taught Monica Collins she can’t trust anyone - especially military men. Since escaping her home, she’s built a successful career as a nanny, showing other kids the love she was denied as a child. But when her employer’s ambassadorial home becomes fair game for intruders during a riot, she’s forced to rely on two SEALs to get her to safety. Basically her worst nightmare come to life.
Stuart “Pid” Hall is used to people being scared, panicked, and confused during a rescue mission, but Monica’s deep animosity and distrust is a surprise...until she shares a bit of her story. He can’t blame her for hating all things military - or for being outraged when his commander demands the SEAL team escort her back to Hawaii. Turns out the ambassador’s home was specifically targeted, and Monica’s the only person who’s faced the intruder and lived.
No one is prepared to learn the man has ties to the Navy. When he decides to use Monica as a pawn for his revenge, she’ll have to overcome years of deep-seated fear...and put her trust in Stuart’s hands if she hopes to see another day.
Finding Monica is the fourth book in the SEAL Team Hawaii series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliff-hanger endings.

Better than Book 3.
After enjoying Books 1&2, I’d had a disappointment with Book 3 because the male villain in Book 1 voiced the lead in Book 3. It was like a rotten earworm & I had a hard time getting past that even though I’m good with the performances. I’ve loved all of the male vocals as leads & am getting used to Emma Wilder. Jason Clarke has the kind of voice that you can sink into like comfy sofa. Nice.
I preordered this one with my fingers crossed. Thank goodness I wasn’t disappointed. The story line has an interesting viewpoint of PTSD. I won’t say more except lauds go to a nice flesh out. I love the recurring characters; the team, their women, Baker, Theo… Hot sex but not too much.
Guess I’ll be pre-ordering Book 5, too.
P.S. I’ve dipped my toes into some of this author’s other offerings but they aren’t as good IMHO.

almost, but not quite
the story line was great, but the end (specifically the intimate part) felt rushed. like the Author went "oh crap! I forgot to write a sex scene. oh well I'll just slap it here at the end" yest of the story was great. Can't wait for Carley and Jags story!♡

Find Monica!
I like this book. There may have been some things that were literary opportunities. But I’d read it again, and I probably will! I wish that Pin and Mo had had sex earlier in the book there was a lot to wait for but it was good when it happened!

What a Story!
Another great Installment in this series! The story is hard to listen to at times and others I can not get enough. The characters filled me with a few “wow” moments then settled into wonderful. Monica has an innate strength that she doesn't realize she has and i was super impressed(where Susan Stoker comes up with these ladies I will never know). Her story hurts my heart. I can not even fathom what she has been through. Luckily she runs across Pid. A nicer guy you will never meet unless his woman is threatened. I loved all that he did for her.
Then enter the other SEALs and their women. Those ladies are becoming a group to be reckoned with as they grow more with each story. I love all the interaction between the men and the women as well.
Overall from the first scene to the last I was completely focused on this story. It is a wild ride full of unimaginable ups and downs. I did listen to this on audio. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke are the narrators who both do an amazing job! I can not wait for the next in the series.

Hawaii has it in for Monica
As usual another great read from Mrs. Stoker. With all the teams and all the situations that can happen, these unlucky SEAL's always have a good fight against the newest bad guys. There were enough twists and turns with Monica to kind of know where she was leaning and then when her surprising reactions came along it was very satisfying. The turning point which I loved the most was at the sleepover with the rest of the women.
Knowing the last books are about Carly, Ashlyn and Jodelle, seeing how long and drawn out their stories are, and how maddening it is to the men sometimes wears thin. Maybe/hopefully stories will overlap enough in the time line that even though we're waiting to read it, the characters are maneuvering in the background to get on getting together.
In this book we learn the most about Jodelle so far. Clearly she has a tragic story and because Baker knows all, and anything he can't discover Tex can, I'm sure he has his reasons for not engaging with her. Yet. This is a good tease and hopefully Baker will get to see more of Jodelle throughout the next two books enough to find out what trouble she will be getting herself into.
Of course the story wouldn't be complete without the awesome narration of Emma Wilder & Jason Clarke. Jason Clarke really brings all the men to life. It's always fun to see if the bad guy(s) make it or not, and if not how they exit the book. This one was fantastic and original for the location, so that was highly entertaining as well.

They are all the same anymore
I read many of Stokers books but I am done. In the later series if you find one or two that are good enough for a re-read, you're lucky.

🎢THRILLING RIDE! GI Jane meets Superman!
🔹This was my fave book of the series so far. I fell in love with all of the characters! This book was super thrilling and kept my interest! I love how Susan writes and draws you into her characters! Keep em coming - Im addicted!
Monica (Mo) is endearing - tough, brave, fierce, caring, giving, loving and overall amazing!
Stewart (pid) is caring, loving, giving, emotional, a gentleman, outgoing, and a fantastic man!
I was rooting for this couple from the opening scene!
🔹This book had a different flow than the others. It was mostly ACTION ~ the Romance emerged in the end!
Overall it was a exciting listen! - Kudos Susan!

Great
What can I say that I haven't said before. This is another fantastic book by Susan. My only problem is I read / listen too much and its finished before I realize it. Jason and Emma do a wonderful job in bringing the characters to life. Enjoy

trust
loved the dual narration of Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke
Monica's military father abused her physically and mentally. Leaving her terrified of military people. When she witnessed a man who says he is a navy seal, robbing and murdering people. Stuart is ordered to bring her back to base in Hawaii, so she can help identify him.
Stewart gradually chips away at her walls, and builds her confidence up, they start to have feelings for each other

Disappointing book in the series
Disappointed with the plot which for me just wasn't believable.
Shame as I enjoyed the previous books in this series....even though the characters are too good to be true; it's still good fantasy.

haven't read susan for awhile.
It's always a big decision on which series to read first when it comes to susan so I wait for more of the books to be released on audible. however I always keep up with the Hawaii seals.
this was awesome, Susan addresses sensitive topics and somehow highlights them for the better. the heroines plight is just this type of topic.
great romance and suspense as always and done well which is a given with Susan Stoker.
love the alphas, the steam, the continual flow of past loved characters and how the ending bleeds beautifully into the next book. (as always)
Emma Wilder does an awesome narration and she and maxine mitchell are a a select few I applaud for being able to pull of men's voices. and of course the wonderful gravelly Jason Clarke ❤ always does Seal alphas justice.
loving these books...as always
