Story
It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Story
Pampered heiress Georgianna Watkins has a party-girl image to maintain, but all the shopping and clubbing is starting to feel a little bit hollow - and a whole lot lonely. Though Georgie would never admit it, the highlights of her week are the mornings when she comes home at the same time as her uptight, workaholic neighbor is leaving to hit the gym and put in a long day at the office. Teasing him is the most fun Georgie's had in years - and the fuel for all her naughtiest daydreams.

The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business and went back to my miserable date. I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.

Thirty days ago, my boss, Mr. Wolf of Wall Street, came to me with an offer I couldn't refuse: Sign my name on the dotted line and pretend to be his fiancée for one month. If I agreed, he would let me out of my employment contract with a "very generous" severance package. The rules were pretty simple: No intimate kissing, no actual sex. Just pretend to love each other for the press, even though I've secretly wanted to knock that sexy smirk off his face since the first day we met.

We come from two different worlds. I’m from the streets. She might as well live in an ivory tower. I made my living with my fists. I doubt she could even throw a punch. Our paths never should have crossed. We never should have met. That doesn’t change the facts. I would sell my soul to taste those red lips. Fight the devil himself to hear her laugh. Burn in hell to have a single night. Scarlett Priest shouldn’t even know men like me exist, but sometimes temptation is stronger than will. If this is how I go down, it’ll be worth every second of the fall.

I’d never forgotten him - a man I’d yet to meet. Griffin Quinn was my childhood pen pal, the British boy who couldn’t have been more different from me. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, we became best friends, sharing our deepest, darkest secrets and forming a connection I never thought could break. Until one day it did. Then, out of the blue, a new letter arrived. A scathing one - one with eight years of pent-up anger. I had no choice but to finally come clean as to why I stopped writing. Griffin forgave me, and we were able to rekindle our childhood connection.

Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes. I didn't know or care what her name was. Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man. She hates me, and she should. I objected on her wedding day. Publisher's Summary
A sexy agent hounds Wall Street's hottest new wolf in an exhilarating novel from New York Times best-selling author Lauren Layne. Ian Bradley is the definition of a Wall Street hotshot: seven-figure salary, designer suits, and a corner office. His drive off the floor is just as potent. Every woman who knows him has felt the rush. But now he's met his match in Lara McKenzie - a woman with the power to bring Ian to his knees. An ambitious, whip-smart daughter of FBI agents, Lara is a rising star in fighting white-collar crime. Her latest case - the investigation of Ian Bradley for insider trading - could make her career.
She knows a scoundrel when she sees one, and Ian fits the bill: a cocky, ridiculously handsome bad boy with a slick swagger. She'll do anything to prove he's guilty. He'll do anything to prove he's not. But it's only a matter of time before their fierce battle of wits gets oh so hot and personal. Now taking down Ian has become more than business for Lara. It's become a pleasure-and there's more at risk than she ever dreamed.

This one gets an auto 5 stars because of Zachary W
The narration was so good. I have a crush on Zachary Webber's voice. I listen to everything he does. Lauren Layne is new to me along with Samantha Coook but I wasn't disappointed. Can't wait for Book 2. Oh did I forget to mention I loved the story too!! Excellent....
A story within the romance was told and there were some great characters. Zachary is better with the other characters but Ms. Cook did ok too. Thanks for a good listen.

Wolf of Wall Street
Sexy Wall Street suit, Ian and the SEC investigator, Lara. Sparks fly as Lara tries to prove that Ian is guilty of insider trading. Ian's friends rally around him and help him try to prove his innocence. This is the first of the 21 Wall Street series. I can't wait for the next book! I love how Lauren Layne writes the witty banter between all the characters. The narration from Zachary Webber and Samantha Cook is wonderful!! This is well worth the credit.

I did not like the performance of Samantha’s Cook. The book was good and of course Zachary delivers every time, he can narrate the phone book and I would listen.

Unfortunately it's very dry and boring
There's no exciting parts, there's no action. I expected some kind of action as much as a contemporary can have action. Some kind of tension but really the hero and herione avoid each other constantly and we're often hearing them complain. Narrators were amazing. Story wasn't my tea, I'm sorry I was so bored even when I heard 90% of it. if you love Wall Street stuff and a pending very long investigation then this is for you. I thought I'd really like it, but I'm just so bored.

new 2 Samantha, Zachary what a voice!
I have read several of Lauren's books … love this book. love her writing style. I am new 2 Samantha Cook's voice. Love Zachary's voice. Am I the only one who looks 2 see what these narrators read and then make a pick on which book to listen too? I thought well I love Z and Lauren is a great writer … so I was so happy. Must read and I will check out if the next book is on Audible … I really think that some books are just so awesome to listen too … this was one that should be included there. ( ;

Flirty Wall Street romance
Good solid story with interesting characters. The author was a bit lax though at painting a picture of life as successful 29 somethings in New York City other than the briefest sketches of club life, the office, and Ian’s apartment. The story centers around an ambitious rags to riches young broker/player and an equally ambitious, dedicated SEC investigator. The book is the first of a trilogy about 3 friends that work for the same firm so there is plenty of interaction between the characters as their personalities are laid out. Ian’s childhood/teen years are barely discussed and even less so in terms of best friend Sabrina. The foster dad is mildly entertaining but his main purpose is to provide a key line/wake up call by way of analogy to Ian’s puzzle of how to move his relationship with Lara along. The mystery part is very predictable as is the romance and the story. The sex scenes are good but brief. Zachary Webber did a great job with narration was good but not a frequent as Samantha Cooke’s and hers was at times monotone and bored when in female character; her male voices were flat and indistinguishable. This is a stand-alone but the other 2 friends have their own stories. I hope the series ends up on the Romance Package or sale because this was not really worth a credit.

I really liked this story, and the narrators were good as well. It’s not super steamy, but I liked to characters and storyline enough that it was still a good romance book.

Good idea for a story
Orphan makes good and gets the girl, classic. The only thing is I found the male reader somewhat irritating. He sounded as if he would rather be anywhere else but where he was doing anything else. He really sounded bored.

Very Enjoyable Read
Entertaining story. Laura is a strong female lead and Ian is the usual gorgeous, rich manslut but is still a good guy who gives up his playboy ways after meeting Laura. It's not a unique romance story no standout moments but entertaining and no annoying whining and no annoyingly long inner monologues filled with angst or gushing over a man's gorgeousness. Laura comes across like a real woman. Great narration. Zachary Webber is one of my favorites and Samantha Cook was also good. I recommend this book.
