About this listen

Anyone confronted with the diagnosis of "leaky gut syndrome" will probably quickly realize during their own research that the subject is relatively complex. But why is it actually so?

"Leaky gut syndrome" refers to a condition in which the mucous membrane of our intestines is permeable at the microscopic level, but unfortunately not only for nutrients and other molecules important for bodily functions, but also for substances that should actually have been excreted with bowel movements, including pathogens and toxins such as alcohol. If these substances pass through the intestinal mucosa, they are then absorbed into the circulation through our blood. Our body reacts to this primarily with inflammatory reactions, which can lead to a variety of complaints.
