Publisher's Summary

Mini Farming describes a holistic approach to small-area farming that will show you how to produce 85 percent of an average family's food on just a quarter acre - and earn $10,000 in cash annually while spending less than half the time that an ordinary job would require. Even if you have never been a farmer or a gardener, this book covers everything you need to know to get started: buying and saving seeds, starting seedlings, establishing raised beds, soil fertility practices, composting, dealing with pest and disease problems, crop rotation, farm planning, and much more. Because self-sufficiency is the objective, subjects such as raising backyard chickens and home canning are also covered along with numerous methods for keeping costs down and production high.

Almost unlistenable

The content is good and straightforward. The voice actor reading it may as well have been an automated computer. Siri and Alexa would make it more engaging and less robotic. This is not an exaggeration. I’m sure he’s nice and all, but reading aloud just isn’t his thing, dog.

Good info for Starting, bad bad narration

Is good info if you are starting out, if you have experience no need for this one. found it very hard to finish due to the horrible narrator sounds like a computer voice and makes the book boring even though you can learn a lot if you are a beginner

Great material!

Overall the book itself is fantastic. I really enjoyed and even learned some new things. The narrator has a nice smooth voice, but tends to read ridiculously slow. Even when I sped up the timing it still was not enjoyable per his way of reading. Overall I’d recommend this book.

Content is good Narration sucks

Book has some good information however the narrator acts like he thinks we are all in kindergarten. Had a very hard time listening to this one. Author might consider re recording the book.

Need a different narrator

It’s impossible to get interested in the book with the narration. It has great info but trying to listen to it seems like a chore.

Worth the money

That these things are not taught to every kid growing up is why we can't have nice things.

#1 for content

Mini Farming is full of practical information and up there at the top with my other favorite by Monty Don, Down to Earth. I have used my monthly credits on numerous other gardening/farming books that were low on practical help but high on "performance". Give me monotone anyday over political hype.

Hard to listen too enjoyably

The information was helpful but I quit listening at chapter 4 because the narrator was computerized sounding and hard to sit through.

Robotic voice

Bizarre narration. Sounds like a robot. Good material though. Nice that the PDF comes with it and easy to access.

Good Content, Poor Narration

The content is great and informative, however the narration us dryer than the Sahara Desert.
However I did find that by increasing the playback speed, it helped to make it slightly easier to listen to.
