In Take It to the Next Level: What Got You Here Won't Get You There, world-renowned executive educator, coach, and consultant Marshall Goldsmith reveals the 21 bad habits that could be holding you back from ascending to greater achievement, prosperity, and happiness - and causing you to suffer negative consequences you aren't even aware of. For each of these habits, Goldsmith offers a simple and highly actionable alternative behavior that will have an electrifying effect on your quest for greatness. You'll discover:

  • How you may be deluding yourself when it comes to your own success.
  • Why feedback is so much more critical than you thought, and five ways to get it without having to ask.

  • The ideal time to change.
  • And so much more.

If you are completely satisfied with your "here," Marshall Goldsmith's ceiling-shattering insights and strategies are definitely not for you. But if you are ready and willing to shed some ineffective behaviors so that you can move your professional, personal, and financial satisfaction from "here" to "there"' - a place where you're making more money, having more fun, and enjoying your work, relationships, and life more than ever before - Take It to the Next Level is the jolt of energy you've been waiting for.

remarkable book

What made the experience of listening to Take It to the Next Level the most enjoyable?

Make no mistake, this isn't a self help book. There are exercises that seems self developmental and it is, however all of his examples were with top executives or in his personal life. As much as one would agree with his point, the challenge is in identify the triggers and applying his teachings.

builds a little more on the foundation set by the first book.
the audio in the live segments wasn't always great and the editing of those parts was choppy.

Marshall is a Magician

Now I understand why this guy is number one. You could take all his knowledge and all his expertise and experience but you’ll never be Marshall Goldsmith. The man is simply a coaching legend. But you undoubtedly will learn so much from this cleverly executed gem of a book. Will be replaying it many, many times to remind me just how grand my profession is. Thank you Dr. Goldsmith.

to the publisher: please re-edit this audio book!

Very useful, practical and inspiring thoughts. Even though quite a few things are repeating from other books written by Marshall Goldsmith. This does not reduce their value.
It would be great if the audio version could be re-edited, because the sudden switching between the narrated book and some recorded public speaking events was quite distructing. I also found that in some cases sentences were cut unfinished at the end of the chapter i.e. chapter 5.
Overall the content for me was worth it.

Great life and business advice

There is something in here for all of us. An old book but the main concepts haven't aged. I've taken ideas from this and I'm going to apply to my work and coaching. I think I'll get the hard copy to take more notes first....

Good listen, bit repetitive in parts.

I enjoyed this book, the author has a decent sense of humour. There are parts which get a bit unweildy and others that are repetitive but still very much worthy of your ears.
