A life worthy read/ listen

I started an eight hour TRE over four months ago. In that time I've lost over 4kg, which given I haven't been able to lose weight no matter what I've tried, is really great. This book rounds out the little information I've read on TRE and provides much more information in other areas. I'm looking forward to seeing even better results after listening to this book and adopting the suggestions.

Inspiring & Important

This book presents info on the benefits of intermittent fasting and sleep. Somehow it left a deeper impression on me than when I’ve heard this in other books and from other sources. The penny finally dropped about what the benefits are of keeping your eating within an 8 or 12 hour window. It explains how during the fasting stage, your body can catch up with repairing itself, producing hormones that can do what they need to do, without having to always be sending out chemicals to aid digestion! It explained how your organs will be able to function more effectively when the digestion is not dominating your body's biorhythms 24/7. Well that was what I understood; probably not right at all but it made a lot of sense when he explained it.

I felt completely convinced by his arguments and found the book very inspiring and interesting. The narrator has a lovely voice and I would highly recommend it.

We can all do this!!

Love this book! It's really empowering to think there is so much I can naturally do to help myself. I've had something nagging me about sorting out my bed and wake up times and this book confirms what my intuition has been hinting to me. Also all the other basic things we can do like light exposure, exercise, sleep and time restricted eating I had no idea of the benefits these all have on the circadian clocks!
These are what our ancestors have been saying for ages and truly I think inside what we know is good for us. We start with the basics, we have to, and which is actually the biggest thing we can do for ourselves. Once we have a strong foundation then everything else we do will have way more chance of working better! Thank you so much Dr.Panda for this information I have been implementing this for a few days and already feeling more assured and confident in myself which is a really nice surprise!

Elongate and repetitive

The theory is nothing new.
The content seems to be bulked up with shopping list and a lot of empty information.

Outdated Data

Even though the book is released in 2018, it is not evidence based. There are claims about nutrition(especially in chapter 5) what doesn't align with actual science. Just be aware of this fact, when consuming this knowledge.
Otherwise a good listen when it comes to sleep.

Supposed to come with an app, but doesn't work

It would have been a great book, and you're supposed to be able to get a tracker app to log all of your information. The app doesn't even install, just throws up an error. Very very disappointed.

Life saving

Thank you Dr Panda! After listening to this audio I have started to follow what I always knew but always needed confirmed...Circadian rythums are real in all cells and until we follow their prompts we will not be attaining full health and not be optimising what we have been gifted. Simple to follow and easy to digest. Get the app ...do the 14 week study. Its a game changer. A good listen and just great advise.

Best health advice ever

We deviated from millions of years of evolutionary patterns causing major health issues throughout the developed world. And implementing a 8-12 hour eating regiment where you could eat what you want is an achievable goal for better health with little effort.

Interesting area of research but poorly written

DNF. I’ve been following Dr Panda’s research for a while now and he’s doing some exciting work in circadian health and ageing. I was awaiting this book for a few months.

Unfortunately, he seems to have rushed the process in writing this book, which while has a strong evidence base in premise, lacks the foundation to justify many of his assertions. There are sweeping generalisations and recommendations based on very early data and the explanations made often are pretty broad extrapolations without much discussion of the nitty gritty biological basis. Anyone with a basic biological understanding could find holes in many of his assertions.

The writing style also borders on sensationalism and regrettably sounds more like a mid afternoon informercial than an objective review of evidence and it’s ensuing discussion.

I think circadian health will change how we look and medicine and healthcare in our lifetime. Unfortunately, this book has shown how early we are in our research and the caution we should exercise in extrapolating from this data.

Unsuccessful match between self-help and & science

I was already quite familiar with the author's research and studies before reading this book. I found it to be a really disappointing self-help guide.
The author would perhaps be better off sticking with scientific publications than giving health and wellness advice in areas he is clearly somewhat unfamiliar with.
Lots of blanket wellness statements and personal anecdotes I could have done without.
