Story
For decades we have been taught that fat is bad for us, carbohydrates better, and that the key to a healthy weight is eating less and exercising more. Yet despite this advice, we have seen unprecedented epidemics of obesity and diabetes. Taubes argues that the problem lies in refined carbohydrates, like white flour, easily digested starches, and sugars, and that the key to good health is the kind of calories we take in, not the number.

Publisher's Summary
From acclaimed author Dr. Jason Fung, a revolutionary guide to reversing diabetes.
Dr. Jason Fung forever changed the way we think about obesity with his best-selling book, The Obesity Code. Now he has set out to do the same for type 2 diabetes.
Today, most doctors, dietitians, and even diabetes specialists consider type 2 diabetes to be a chronic and progressive disease - a life sentence with no possibility of parole. But the truth, as Dr. Fung reveals in this paradigm-shifting book, is that type 2 diabetes is reversible. Writing with clear, persuasive language, he explains why conventional treatments that rely on insulin or other blood-glucose-lowering drugs can actually exacerbate the problem, leading to significant weight gain and even heart disease. The only way to treat type 2 diabetes effectively, he argues, is proper dieting and intermittent fasting - not medication.

Eye opener
Thank you Dr Jason, humanity needed such a book decades ago. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, each chapter had me asking one question, why dint this book come out sooner so we could tackle diabetes in our prior generations who are now victims of years of symptomatic treatments and probably suffered irreversible consequences already. Seriously wish and hope that the medical fraternity pays attention and revamps their outlook towards management of this large scale disorder. May God bless you doctor for all your hard work.

Book of Hope for Diabetics
The concepts of central obesity and hyper Insulinamia are pathbreaking. The futility and ramifications of drug treatment for Type II Diabetes established. The efficacy of fasting and Low Carb and High Fat (LCHF) diet proved beyond doubt in this book. It reflects committed efforts of Dr Jason Fung to liberate his patients from the clutches of Diabetes. I would like to appreciate his commitment for human health and his courage to stand against the disease maintaining Phrama companies. I hope the doctors around the world would wake up from the comfortable sleep induced by Pharma companies. They should stand up for their profession if not for human welfare. Based this new scientific understanding, a health activist, Veeramachineni Ramakrishna started an LCHF diet movement for diabetes in Andhra Pradesh, India. The movement received overwhelming response from public.

Good Book .Insightful and must read for everyone.
The Book tries to challenge the contemporary understanding of Diabetes Type 2 and makes a very winning argument in favor of general health and wellbeing of humanity which is under the constant threat of new age pharmaceutical companies that are driving today's treatment methodology in Diabetes.
