  • Connection, Courage, and Compassion with Cole Hooley
    Apr 1 2026

In a recent BYU Devotional, President Dallin H. Oaks said, "We are grateful to know that there are two methods of gaining needed knowledge: (1) the evolving disclosures of man discovered by the scientific method and (2) the truths disclosed by the spiritual method, which begins with faith in God and relies on scriptures, inspired teaching, and personal revelation. There is no ultimate conflict between knowledge gained by these different methods because God, our omnipotent Eternal Father, knows all truth and beckons us to learn by both methods."

As a professor of Social Work, Dr. Cole Hooley expertly teaches us how to apply both methods in our everyday lives as covenant keepers. He envisions a world where no one is left behind. Researchers are developing powerful tools to alleviate suffering, and his mission is to get them to everyone who needs them. Cole pursues this mission through a unique blend of clinical practice, teaching, research, and civic leadership.

As a psychotherapist, Dr. Hooley provides direct care that grounds him in clients' real-world needs. As a professor of social work, he trains the next generation of clinicians to deliver compassionate, evidence-based services. As a researcher, he studies mental health services and implementation science—focusing on how proven interventions can be scaled and sustained within behavioral health care systems. His experience as a city council member and as a consultant to state agencies helps him translate research into actionable policy.

At the systems level, Cole is interested in bridging the gap between academia and policy. His goal is to produce rigorous research that is also practical and actionable for policymakers, system leaders, and community stakeholders. By integrating research and practice, he aims to help build innovative, equitable, and sustainable behavioral health systems. Cole's research interests were born from his experiences in New York City, St. Louis, Utah, Uganda, Rwanda, and the UK.

  • Serving with Faith and Love with Sonya Stucki
    Mar 17 2026

Elder Ulisses Soares said, "Among the qualities that adorn true disciples of Christ, temperance stands out as a reflection of the Savior Himself, a precious fruit of the Spirit, available to all who open themselves to divine influence. It is the virtue that brings harmony to the heart, shaping desires and emotions with wisdom and calmness. In the scriptures, temperance is presented as an essential part of the progress in our spiritual journey, leading us toward patience, godliness, and compassion while refining our feelings, our words, and our actions."

Our guest for this episode, Sonya Stucki, stands out as a woman who exemplifies the temperance Elder Soares spoke of. Sonya brings a sense of wisdom and calmness to her interactions and radiates warmth and acceptance. We are excited to share this episode and know you will enjoy listening in on our visit around Sonya's kitchen table.

Sonya Stucki's life is a beautiful testament to long-term love and devoted discipleship. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sonya's journey with her husband began when they were just teenagers; they later married after he returned from his mission to Finland. Today, they are the proud parents of six children and their beautiful spouses, and they are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their 11th grandchild!

Sonya and two of her dear friends started a jewelry business years ago, while they were all still raising young children at home: Tres' Jolie jewelry. They experienced great success, selling jewelry at Nordstrom nationwide. Their success sweetened their sisterhood, and they remain dear friends today.

Whether she is exploring creative passions, building deep relationships, or seeking the stillness of the scriptures, Sonya's heart centers on Christ. For over 13 years, Sonya and her husband have found fulfillment serving in the temple. She feels a profound sense of gratitude for being a witness to the "marvelous things" happening in the world today and finds her greatest joy in her Savior and in the work of His kingdom.

  • Greater Love with Abree Franklin and Jamison Bell
    Mar 3 2026

President Dallin H. Oaks said, "A good marriage does not require a perfect man or a perfect woman. It only requires a man and a woman committed to strive together toward perfection."

Two amazing young people who are committed to striving together toward perfection are our guests for this episode: Abree Franklin and Jamison Bell. We appreciate them sharing their story with us! We loved capturing this moment in time with Abree and Jamison as they are on the brink of their happily ever after.

Abree is from Meridian, Idaho. She served her mission in Tucson, Arizona, and is studying Communication Disorders at BYU to become a Speech Language Pathologist. She also dreams of teaching seminary at some point. Abree is passionate about reading, getting outside, stepping out of her comfort zone, learning the gospel, and spending time with Jamison.

Jamison was born in Sacramento, California. He served his mission in the Chile Santiago South Mission. He is currently attending BYU, studying biology with the intention of pursuing a career in dentistry. In his free time, he loves watching and playing all kinds of sports, working out, listening to music, spending time with family, and being with Abree.
