  • Humility: Living Beyond Yourself | Core: Built Different (Week 4)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 4 of the sermon series "Core: Built Different."

Why does God want your core to be strong? Not just so you can be a better person, but so you can fulfill your purpose. In "Humility: Living Beyond Yourself," Derrick Douglas closes the series with Philippians 2 ("in humility value others above yourselves") and Jesus washing the disciples' feet in John 13. Humility isn't thinking you have less value; it's knowing your value without making yourself the center. It doesn't dim your light, it serves without a spotlight, and it turns purpose into impact. Your blessing should become somebody else's benefit: God, you, then others.

    Scripture: Philippians 2:3-5 (also Mark 10:45, John 13:3-15, 1 Peter 4:10, Ephesians 2:10, Matthew 28:19)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: where has my faith become too focused on me? Who has God already placed around me that could benefit from what He has built in me? Then act: pick up the towel. Find one intentional way to serve someone this week without expectation, recognition or repayment.

  • Integrity: Living What You Believe | Core: Built Different (Week 3)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 3 of the sermon series "Core: Built Different."

Who you are when nobody's watching is who you are. In "Integrity: Living What You Believe," Derrick Douglas walks through Psalm 15 ("the one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart") to show that integrity means your walk matches your word. Integrity is tested when obedience becomes inconvenient, it travels with you from church to work to the group chat, and it is built in private before it is ever seen in public. Private compromises eventually produce public consequences, but what you practice privately prepares you for public pressure.

    Scripture: Psalm 15:1-5 (also James 1:22, Matthew 5:16, Matthew 23:27-28, Luke 6:43-44, Genesis 39:9)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: where is the biggest gap between what I say I believe and how I'm actively living? Then act: choose one area where your behavior needs to catch up with your beliefs, make one concrete change, and bring someone trustworthy in for accountability.

  • Living a Lie | D.I.R.T.Y. (Week 1)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 1 of the sermon series "D.I.R.T.Y.": confronting the sins that pollute our character and cloud our witness.

In "Living a Lie," Derrick Douglas starts where the enemy started in the garden. Satan is the father of lies, but many of us learned to lie young, and little white lies lead to confusion. Your shortcut becomes a setup. Deceit disconnects you from God's presence, keeps you from living in grace, and diminishes your witness: if people can't trust your words, they won't believe in your Jesus. God can't bless the you you're pretending to be; He only blesses the true you. Deceit is the dirt on your destiny.

    Scripture: John 8:44, Proverbs 11:3 (also 1 John 1:6, Acts 5:1-11)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: where am I being dishonest with God, myself or others? Then act: tell the truth in one area you've been hiding this week.

  • The Gift You're Called to Give Away | Uncommon Gift (Week 4)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 4, the final week, of the sermon series "Uncommon Gift": rediscovering the gift that came for us all this Christmas season.

On the last Sunday of 2025, in "The Gift You're Called to Give Away," Derrick Douglas closes the series with the Great Commission. Love received must become love given: when you know how God sees you, through Jesus, you start seeing others that way too. God's love is meant to flow through us, not be sealed up. "Go" really means "as you are going," at work, at school, in how you live. The mission is active, not passive, and it's for every believer. Giving the gift multiplies the joy, strengthens your own faith and brings His presence, because Jesus promises to be with us in the mission.

    Scripture: 1 John 4:11, Matthew 28:18-20 (also Matthew 18:21-35)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: who in your life needs to experience the gift you've been given? Then act: share your testimony or an act of love with at least one person this week.

  • The Gift That Keeps Giving | Uncommon Gift (Week 3)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 3 of the sermon series "Uncommon Gift": rediscovering the gift that came for us all this Christmas season.

In "The Gift That Keeps Giving," Derrick Douglas turns to John 7:37-39, where Jesus promises rivers of living water: the Holy Spirit. We try to quench our thirst with promotions, money and things, but only the Spirit satisfies the soul's dryness. Spiritual thirst is an invitation from God, and Jesus offers the Spirit to all who come. The Spirit empowers daily living, and the tap is always on. The Spirit equips us to do God's will, turns receivers into givers, produces lasting change, anchors us in truth and keeps the work of Jesus alive in us, blessing generations after us.

Scripture: John 7:37-39 (also John 4, Psalm 23:4)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: what areas of your life are running dry because you haven't allowed the Spirit to refresh them? Then act: invite the Holy Spirit to lead and empower you daily this week.

  • The Gift You Can't Earn | Uncommon Gift (Week 2)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 2 of the sermon series "Uncommon Gift": rediscovering the gift that came for us all this Christmas season.

In "The Gift You Can't Earn," Derrick Douglas walks through Ephesians 2:8-9, written to a wealthy, influential city that thought it could earn anything. Grace is God's idea, not ours. It is a gift, not a reward; there's no purchase required for this free gift, and it was set in motion before you were born. God can't love you any more or any less than He already does. Faith is the only way to receive it, transferring your trust from yourself to God. Without faith the gift stays unopened under the tree. Good works are the evidence of salvation, not the entrance fee, and they flow out of gratitude, not guilt.

Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9 (also John 14:12)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: are you still trying to earn what God has already given you? Then act: do one act of kindness this week purely out of gratitude for God's grace.

  • The Gift No One Expected | Uncommon Gift (Week 1)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 1 of the sermon series "Uncommon Gift": rediscovering the gift that came for us all this Christmas season.

In "The Gift No One Expected," Derrick Douglas looks at who heard the news first: shepherds, among the lowest class of their day. Gifts often come wrapped in humility. People wanted a deliverer from Roman rule; God sent a baby born in a barn and laid in a feeding trough. God uses ordinary settings for extraordinary purposes, and humble beginnings shift the glory back to Him. Unexpected packaging tests our spiritual perception, heaven's announcement came to the overlooked, and God meets you right where you are. The greatest gift meets the deepest need: reconciliation with God.

    Scripture: Luke 2:8-14 (also John 1:1, 14)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: where might God be sending an uncommon gift you've overlooked because it's wrapped in humility? Then act: intentionally bless someone this week who is often overlooked.

  • Yielding to God's Cleanup Plan | D.I.R.T.Y. (Week 5)
    Oct 27 2026

Week 5, the final week, of the sermon series "D.I.R.T.Y.": confronting the sins that pollute our character and cloud our witness.

In "Yielding to God's Cleanup Plan," Derrick Douglas concludes the series by asking how we clean up the dirt. We keep trying to clean ourselves, but yielding is what makes you clean. Yielding begins with a willing heart; God wants you available, not perfect. Like a yield sign, it means slowing down long enough to let God guide you in. It requires a renewed mind: the prodigal son's turnaround started when he came to his senses, and some of us are stuck in a roundabout until we let go of control. Yielding produces lasting transformation; when God gets your heart, He also gets your habits.

    Scripture: Romans 12:1-2 (also Isaiah 6:8, Luke 15:11-24, Luke 19:1-10, John 21:1-14)
    Speaker: Derrick Douglas

Weekly challenge: Reflect: where in my life am I resisting God's control: my thoughts, my time, my desires or my direction? Then act: take one bold step of obedience this week; say yes where you've been saying later.
