Fit For My Age

This is how Fit For My Age started. I was, and still am a middle-aged man who seemed to have all of the bad things that can happen to a man of my age, happen to me in a very short space of time. Or at least it felt like it!

I am sure that I am not alone in having a wake-up call type of experience. If we are lucky it happens to every man and every woman. I decided to heed the call and improve my lifestyle.

Fit For My Age is a record of my attempts to learn the things that I wish I had known earlier in life. The sort of things that may have helped me avoid or better manage the ageing process. So, I might sound as if I am saying, I wish I’d known then what I know now!

Mine will not be the only voice that you hear. I will be talking to a wide range of experts and may even be able to persuade some of the personal trainers that I have worked with to join me every so often.

What I do hope is that by sharing the knowledge I gain and the experiences that I have had you will also discover ways in which you can improve your physical health and your mental wellbeing.

You never know, a little knowledge may mean that we can, regardless of our age, all be able to say that we are Fit For My Age!

Please contact me with any questions, feedback, or content suggestions via the FitForMyAge.com website.

Thank you.

  • Feminine Energy, Burnout & The Power of Aesthetics – a conversation with Katrina Valente
    Oct 14 2026

The way we look, feel and energetically show up defines us

Host Michael Millward and Dubai‑based holistic aesthetician, facialist, mentor and global wellness expert Katrina Valente, (who has over 30 years’ experience) explore how the way we look, feel and energetically show up shapes our careers, relationships and long‑term wellbeing.

Katrina explains why many outwardly successful women experience burnout, emotional exhaustion, and a sense of inner emptiness. She discusses

    • The difference between masculine and feminine energy, and
    • Why modern work cultures make women operate in masculine ways.

Reconnecting with feminine intuition, creativity and flow can, she says transform both personal happiness and professional success.

Katrina explains how her global career led to the development of her signature mentoring programmes: Radiance Reset and The Valente Method.

She explains the signs of energetic imbalance, the health consequences of constant over‑drive, and practical steps women can take to restore balance; such as creating “white space” in their day, slowing down, and embracing intuitive decision‑making.

    This episode also explores:

    • Why first impressions matter
    • Why women often compete with themselves without realising
    • The impact of burnout on the nervous system
    • How men and women make decisions
    • What male managers can do to better support female colleagues
    • The role of language in communication between genders

Whether you’re a woman navigating a demanding career, a leader managing diverse teams, or simply curious about the intersection of wellbeing, identity and professional life, this conversation will challenge assumptions and spark reflection.

  • Understanding Tissue Hypoxia – a conversation with Teresa Reile
    Oct 7 2026

    Low Oxygen in your cells

In this episode of Fit For My Age, host Michael Millward speaks with Teresa Reile, founder and CEO of Patriox.us, about one of the most overlooked health issues of modern life: tissue hypoxia, or low oxygen levels in the body’s cells.

Teresa shares her extraordinary personal story; from a life‑threatening diagnosis to a near‑fatal intestinal rupture; and explains how discovering a new oxygen‑enhanced water technology transformed her energy, immunity, and long‑term wellbeing.

    Listeners will learn:

    • What hypoxia is and why so many people unknowingly suffer from low cellular oxygen.
    • How mitochondria work, why they depend on oxygen, and how mitochondrial dysfunction contributes to fatigue, inflammation, and chronic disease.
    • The science behind oxygenated water, including how a proprietary electrolysis process creates bioavailable liquid oxygen that the body can absorb instantly.
    • Why modern lifestyles reduce oxygen intake, from pollution and travel to sedentary habits and poor air quality.
    • Who can benefit from oxygen‑based wellness, and why organ‑transplant patients should avoid it.
    • How improved oxygen levels support immune health, energy production, and proactive aging.

This conversation is ideal for anyone interested in longevity, cellular health, immune resilience, energy optimisation, or 21st‑century wellness challenges. Teresa’s insights highlight how oxygen, the body’s most essential nutrient, may be the missing link in modern health.

If you’re exploring ways to boost vitality, support your immune system, or understand the science behind oxygen therapy, this episode will give you the knowledge you need to make informed choices about your wellbeing.

  • Meditation and Breathwork – a conversation with author Noraa Casi
    Sep 30 2026

    Learning the fundamentals of meditation

Host Michael Millward explores the real meaning of meditation, breathwork, and being present in the moment with meditation expert and author Noraa Casi.

Using insights from her book Introduction to Meditation: A Beginner’s Guidebook, Noraa dispels the myths surrounding meditation and explains how simple, everyday practices can help you achieve calm, clarity, and emotional balance.

Noraa unpack how the brain’s electrical frequencies, and breathing patterns, influence stress, anxiety, focus, and wellbeing. She shares practical techniques, including box breathing (4‑4‑4‑4) and long‑exhale breathing (4‑8), that you can use immediately to improve relaxation, sleep quality, and mental clarity.

You’ll learn how meditation isn’t limited to sitting cross‑legged in silence. Noraa explains how everyday activities like washing dishes, walking, or ironing, can become powerful forms of mindfulness meditation when approached with present‑moment awareness.

Whether you're completely new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, this conversation offers accessible guidance, science‑based insights, and empowering encouragement to help you upgrade your brain, reduce stress, and live more intentionally.

    Topics covered:

    • What meditation really is
    • How breathwork changes brain function
    • Understanding brainwave states (beta, alpha, delta)
    • The role of the vagus nerve in relaxation
    • Simple breathing techniques for beginners
    • Everyday activities that double as meditation
    • How being present reduces anxiety and improves wellbeing

Perfect for: beginners to meditation, anyone seeking stress relief, people interested in breathwork, and listeners focused on proactive positive ageing.
