  • Never believe a tiger in a red bandana
    Oct 8 2026

Tony the Tiger says they’re “Grrreat!” — but what’s actually in that bowl?

In this episode, we take a closer look at Frosted Flakes, the amount of sugar packed into a serving, and the marketing power behind one of cereal’s most recognizable mascots.

Tony the Tiger has been selling excitement, fun, and big bowls of frosted cereal for generations. But behind the bright box and famous slogan is a product that deserves a closer look—especially if you’re trying to watch your sugar intake or make better food choices.

We talk about how cartoon mascots can shape the way we think about food, why the front of the box doesn’t always tell the whole story, and why reading the ingredient and nutrition labels matters more than ever.

And, of course, my Golden Retriever has a few opinions of his own.

Before Tony tells you it’s Grrreat… let Food Buddy check the label.

  • Glucose and sleep
    Oct 7 2026

Strange things can happen when our glucose numbers flood the upper numbers. Like falling asleep on the dog's bed with the dog glaring at you as if he thinks he owns that bed.

The food companies are actually killing us one processed package at a time. It is past time to learn what those hidden ingredients mean and what they can do to our bodies.

This podcast hopes to entertain and educate on the serious subject of foods.

  • My Dog is at it again.
    Oct 1 2026

My dog has officially decided I can’t be trusted around nutrition labels.

This time, the problem is a bottle of Ensure.

I’m standing there squinting at the ingredients like I’m trying to read the fine print on a mortgage contract, at home my Golden Retriever takes one look at the bottle, gives me that familiar disappointed stare…and runs off with it.

Apparently, he can read the ingredient list better than I can.

And that’s exactly why I built the Food Buddy Engine.

In this episode, we take a humorous look at what’s actually hiding inside the foods and drinks we buy, why ingredient labels can feel like they were written for chemists with 20/20 vision, and how Food Buddy Engine helps break everything down into plain English.

Because sometimes you need a little help understanding your food.

And sometimes your dog just steals the evidence.

  • Trust Your Dog And Food Buddy Engine
    Sep 29 2026

He was tired, running on fumes, and only stopped for gas.

    That was the plan.

Then he walked inside the gas station and spotted a bag of Cheetos.

One bad decision later, he’s back in the car with orange fingers, a guilty conscience, and a Golden Retriever staring at him like he just betrayed everything they stand for.

    The dog knows.

In this episode, we take a funny look at those little food decisions that happen when we’re tired, hungry, traveling, or just plain weak in the presence of a brightly colored snack bag. Because sometimes the hardest part of eating better isn’t knowing what to do—it’s surviving the gas station convenience store.

And apparently, sometimes your best nutrition coach has four legs, golden fur, and a very judgmental stare.

  • Look at your food!
    Sep 22 2026

Food can be our friend—or work against us.

Most of us buy groceries every week, read a few labels, trust a few claims on the front of the package, and hope we’re making decent choices.

    I did too.

Then my blood work came back prediabetic.

That changed the way I looked at food.

Now I’m paying closer attention to ingredients, glucose response, processed foods, recalls, grocery prices, and the little choices that can add up over time.

This show is about learning what’s really in the food we buy—without becoming afraid of eating.

We’ll look at everyday products, personal food experiments, ingredient surprises, glucose lessons, shopping strategies, and ways to make better decisions before you ever walk into the store.

Short episodes. Straight to the point. No hour-long rambling.

Just practical food information for people who want to know more about what they’re putting in their bodies.

Know what’s in your food. Know before you go.

  • 8 in 10 Don’t Know They Have Prediabetes
    Sep 16 2026

Prediabetes may be far more common than most of us realize.

According to the CDC, more than 115 million American adults — more than 2 in 5 — have prediabetes. Even more surprising, about 8 in 10 adults with prediabetes don’t know they have it.

    Why?

Prediabetes can exist for years without obvious symptoms. Blood sugar is higher than normal, but not yet high enough to meet the definition of type 2 diabetes. Meanwhile, the condition is associated with increased risk for type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

In this episode, I talk about why those numbers should get our attention, why my own prediabetes blood work became a wake-up call, and why understanding what we eat may be one of the most practical places to start.

This isn’t about becoming afraid of food.

    It’s about becoming aware.

Know what you’re eating. Know your numbers. Ask questions. And don’t assume everything is fine simply because you feel fine.

Know what’s in your food. Know before you go.

  • What is the cost of food?
    Sep 15 2026

Every food we buy comes with two costs.

The first is the price we see on the shelf.

The second can be much harder to see — the long-term cost of eating foods that may work against our health.

In this episode, I talk about why saving a few cents at the grocery store doesn’t always mean we’re getting the better deal, and why ingredients, nutrition, blood sugar, cholesterol, and everyday food choices deserve a closer look.

This isn’t about being afraid of food.

It’s about understanding what we’re buying, comparing our options, and making better choices before the food ever reaches the cart.

Because the cheapest food on the shelf may not always be the cheapest food in the long run.

Know what’s in your food. Know before you go.
