The first step to self-knowledge is letting go, and dan often says that everything starts with letting go of the belief that God sees you. Letting go of beliefs and letting go of labels that encumber the view of who we are that is divine, and seeing ourselves as god sees us. The name of his company, tech connect, came about 10 years ago. Matt was part of a business called tech connect How he got into real estate. 7:34 He was a successful salesman for the company, but felt the desire for something bigger and better, and his career at that point had been very linear. He and his best friend decided to start their own business together, and they decided to go into real estate during 2006. They were heavily invested and the wheels started coming off the bus, and they were hustling and thinking they would figure it out. He found a job in upstate new york in the same industry that he had been in, and it served a mission. The moment when all of my pride was stripped off. 12:10 The moment when all of his pride is stripped off, and how he feels like the only way he can survive is with help and all his helps back in utah. The move. Joyce and her husband lost their jobs and were going through some hard times. They prayed and he got an even better job, and they got to the point where they couldn't be friends anymore. Joyce was making six figures more money than she had ever made in her life. Can I come back? I will come back. 16:24 In that moment in the rawness of having everything that he created and made an event, he was taking credit for the fact that he was doing this right. He had enough humility to go back and talk with the owner of tech connect and said he would come back. Became the owner of the business at the end of 2014, coming back to give it to her husband in 2009 after a three year boom and bust. Became an owner in 2017, and her financial life has never been more stable and comfortable. Dealing with falling into the drama triangle. 21:28 He started to have 10 reactions to events and a sense of discontent that he couldn't shake. He found a coach and engaged with a personal coach. He was invited to see fallen beliefs and practices and thoughts that didn't honor him and serve him and patterns that some of those The thoughts he was having at this moment had to do with, I'm not good enough. The belief was if one is good, 10 is better. If one is better, then they are better now. And that is what that would start to look like. Seeing the gap between your agency and your beliefs. 26:53 The coach is helping Matt go and see the thoughts and comparisons that are part of what he believes so that he can make a new choice. The space between what he chose to do more and life, and how it was happening to him. He was beginning to be introduced to his own faith that he needed in christ to go, this can be changed. With his help, he began to choose and choose. He went from 12 weeks of working with his coach to two and a half years working with her. Become conscious of your own power. 31:37 Being able to validate yourself and love yourself, even if nobody in the world pat you on the head and say you're a good guy. How to step into your agency. Becoming conscious of one's own power and the power to choose their own path and to create and to accomplish and to make things happen. The two things Matt has seen in his life that he is not comfortable feeling, feeling good for a certain amount of time to true.
