Scripture Focus: Psalm 82:1-8 - A psalm set in the heavenly court, where God stands in judgment over earthly rulers and judges, and the lesser "gods" who abuse their authority. He commands them to defend the poor, the fatherless, and the weak, and the psalm reminds us that every human ruler is mortal and will one day answer to God.

• God's total sovereignty over the earth, the heavenly realm, spiritual beings, and humanity
• Why human authority is always delegated by God, and why we are called to respect it and pray for those in leadership
