Some neighborhoods carry a feeling you can’t really explain. What starts as a familiar sound in the middle of the night quickly turns into something impossible to explain. After hearing the front door open, a woman and her mother assume a family member has arrived home late. But the house never fills with voices or conversation. Instead, all they hear are heavy footsteps moving slowly through the dark.

Then the shower turns on. The refrigerator opens and closes. And whatever is inside the house seems completely comfortable taking its time.
