    Jordan Sneed will be joining us on May 2nd as our newest preceptor. We evaluated her as being at the top of her class, having the potential to fill a massive void at HPC soon. Her background in dance will help her connect to a broader patient demographic and her progression in physical training will make her a perfect fit for HPC’s methodology of producing consistent and excellent outcomes. We’ve already started her onboarding, but we are excited to make it official in roughly a week!

    Spring is in full effect in our area and with that comes more running, biking, and hiking. Regardless of where you fall in that mix or what intensity you work; your knees will take the brunt of the impact force. So, naturally, they will get sore, achy, and inflamed. We discuss what rehab we utilize in our mash, mobilize, move approach to rehab, as well as why it will help you.     Dr. Ian is much different than he was 3 years ago – and in a good way!     My first exposure to the epic power of a Triad was in the 90’s with the Chicago Bulls. If you were a basketball fan at the time, or if you love the history of the sport’s greatest player, you know that I’m referring to Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman. And if you hate the Bulls, no worries, the concept is true for all the other great teams before and after (Celtics, Lakers, Warriors, etc.). There are always a group of 3 that make the engine run. Many other parts are necessary, but the 3 are always critical.

    This isn’t just true in sports. It’s also true in life, and especially with health, fitness, and wellness. For example, the driving force behind why HPC is so good at generating outcomes falls back on our focus on connecting treatments to joints, muscles, and movements. It’s a logical approach to hitting all the important systems that cause pain and problems. Much the same, our rehab is always structured around the Mash, Mobilize, Move Principle. It’s a logical approach to remodeling tissue and function to its intended state.

    The common thread in those two Triads is… movement. We are always driving the concept that change requires action. In the body, that action is high quality biomechanics – high quality movement. In life it is a trajectory of desired change. So, the question is, how will you identify, create, or utilize a triad of power to produce a trajectory of desired change in your life?

    There are so many awful examples of our society doing things only because… “everyone else was doing it.” This is true only because of the power of social norms. But these norms are starting to change. What was outrageous in the health, fitness, and wellness industry is now known as best practice (CrossFit, HIT, Chiropractic + Rehab). Don’t be afraid to continue fighting the social norm to drive the shift. Let’s make drugs and surgery taboo!

    Whether it’s at the office or at home, how you spend your time will dictate what you get out of your life. I know, that’s not revolutionary. But it’s true, nonetheless. Start with the low hanging fruit. Do some of your rehab exercises, while listening to a conference call. Watch the game in your living room while rolling out your hips and mid back. You never know what could happen. Your kids could start a journey of health, fitness, and wellness at the age of 12, or 6, or 3. Your co-workers might consider taking a life-changing step towards a higher quality of life. And, just maybe, you might feel a ton better!

    We are starting the shift towards 30-minute appointments because they are better for everyone. It’s simple… 1 x 3 = 5. That’s right, tripling the treatment time from 10 minutes to 30 minutes unlocks at least 5 times the value! Ask if it’s the right move for you at your next appointment.

    Too often I hear from outsiders that since we have squat racks and rubber floors our practice "only" treats athletes. Many of you who listen already know that is completely false. When we break down our best patients, they have 2 common traits - a problem they want fixed and a sense of humor. If you know anyone with those two traits, send them out way.

    Dan Martell is the author of "Buy Back Your Time." He is also my mentor's coach and recently presented at our weekly mastermind meeting. It's always great to not only hear a hyper-successful person speak, but to also see and feel how they present. This was confirmed when he discussed the truths behind creating/attracting success.
