• Religious Corruption | Mark 11:12-25
    Oct 11 2026
Mark put the cleansing of the temple between the accounts of the fruitless fig tree to connect the disciples with Jeremiah 7 and 8. It went along with Jesus prediction of the destruction of Jerusalem and the horror that would come to pass. That is why He wept. He looks for fruit in our lives too. The passage concludes with Jesus' promise of how we can deal with the things that keep us from being fruitful.

  • Grok Says Jesus is God
    Oct 4 2026
Dan Rawlins' call to worship from Sunday, October 4, 2026. Asked to remove the false gods from a cartoon of the world's deities, the AI chatbot Grok left one figure standing, Jesus, and then went further: that Jesus is the Son of God, that God raised Him from the dead, and that He is King of kings and Lord of lords.

  • Consequential Choices | Mark 11:1-11
    Oct 4 2026
The day Jesus entered Jerusalem people were choosing their lamb for sacrifice. Jesus was presenting Himself as the Lamb of God, humble and riding on an unbroken colt of a donkey. On the other side of town they were welcoming Pilate and his legion of soldiers. People were choosing between eternal peace in Christ at His invitation or the temporal peace of Rome that came by force of the sword. We choose every day between the world and our Maker.

  • The Servant | Mark 10:35-45
    Sep 20 2026
The kingdom God is upside down from the kingdoms of man. The disciples were having a hard time understanding the heavenly perspective. Jesus told the servant is greatest of all. That was the example He was setting for them, which they would follow in time. Jesus' ultimate service to us was His sacrificial death on the cross to make us His bride.

    Sep 6 2026
It is impossible for those who trust in their wealth to enter the kingdom of God. But with God's gracious help, we can turn our hearts away from the things of the world to Jesus and live for Him.

  • Receptive or Not | Mark 10:13-22
    Aug 30 2026
A little child is the perfect picture of how we should be with our heavenly Father. Their faith and dependency on their Father is how we should be with God. By contrast, the rich, young, ruler was dependent on his money for security and could not look to God for all his needs. The faith and trust of a child receives the kingdom of God but the lack of trust and faith prevents our acceptance of the kingdom.
