Pietro d'Alcántara, (1499-1562), è stato un sacerdote spagnolo dell'Ordine dei Frati Minori; da una sua riforma introdotta nella famiglia francescana ebbe origine il ramo degli scalzi. Fu proclamato santo nel 1669. Jesuit Father William Sneck is an expert on the human struggle with shame, guilt, and anger. 1. Shame is feeling worthless, rejected and unloved. 2. Guilt believes that one has done something irreversibly bad. 3. Anger, as a result of these struggles, can generally be one of the most destructive emotions of the human spirit. Fr. Sneck has been conducting weekend workshops and retreats concerning the emotions of guilt, shame and anger.

Fr. Benedict shows how we can tend with love to the wounds of the Church and of the victims of the failure of the Church. He applies the wounds to the contemporary Church and to the suffering of the people of God and our culture as a whole. He points out that the abuse scandals in the Church have caused horrible harm to the victims, their families and the believing community.

Sr. Carole attempts to address the painful reality of denying denial. Denial is basically a defense mechanism in which a person is faced with facts that are too uncomfortable to accept and ultimately rejects them, insisting that they are not true, despite what may be overwhelming evidence to the contrary. The concept of denying of denial involves thoughts, actions and behaviors, which bolster confidence that nothing needs to be changed in one's personal behavior.

During the tumultuous era of World War II, the city of London shattered under unrelenting bombs dropped by Nazi Germany. Millions of buildings were destroyed or damaged, tens of thousands of civilians were killed, and survivors were left to ask: How can this destruction be part of God's plan? What is God's will in all of this? After City Temple in London was reduced to rubble, Rev. This seminar will focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques proven to be effective for depressions, anxiety, stress, addictions, eating disorders and borderline personality disorders. The six techniques of ACT will be presented with extensive bibliographical resources. Some experiential worksheets will concretize the theory.
