How are philosophers, activists, and others thinking about contemporary moral issues, topics like cancel culture, the definition of racism, the ethics of consent and p*rn, reparations, and the existence of morality? Also, how are university students thinking about these issues? Listen in to find out. I’m a PhD student studying philosophy, and I created this podcast as an opportunity to keep the conversation going beyond the classroom. It includes interviews with scholars, discussions with former students, personal reflections, and content recap from the university ethics classes I teach.

Lucius Annaeus Seneca (4 B.C-A.D. 65), the chief advisor to the emperor Nero, was the power behind the throne in Ancient Rome. He is most famous for his writings on Stoic ideology, in which philosophy is a practical form of self-improvement. Seneca’s letters address the issues of life and death confronting every generation while upholding the ideals of Stoicism–valuing courage and friendship, avoiding corruption and self-indulgence, striving to achieve a good life while being immune to life’s setbacks, and enjoying life without the fear of dying.

What are faithful responses to these questions? Edited by two theologians with pastoral experience, this volume invites engagement with these issues and more by drawing on real-life experiences and offering a range of responses to some of the most challenging moral questions confronting the church today.
