Mark and Levi’s podcast takes a turn when a spaceship crashes in the backyard, and along with Levi’s older sister Brooke, they make contact with an extraterrestrial—a furry, purple creature they name Sky who was separated from the rest of her crew during an intergalactic mission. If she doesn’t make contact with them soon, she’ll never see her home again. Unfortunately, the kids aren’t the only ones who know about the alien’s arrival on Earth. A group of mysterious adults in black suits have begun following them. They’ve kidnapped Brooke’s boyfriend, Gavin, with Sky as ransom.

Having brought down all the kings of Potestia, Lillith embarks on fulfilling her avenging promise to the feline Ember. Though still grieving the death of her brother, she plans to cross the border into the Republic lands and kill every sage keeping the population under magical control. But the sages have been preparing for this, stoking fear in their subjects by prophesizing the coming of death in the form of a destructive demon queen—who looks remarkably like Lillith.

If that's not enough, Levi's been sorted into the smallest house in the school, told he's a Demon Lord, and his dominant magic is beast taming. But Levi's never been one to focus on the negative. With beautiful classmates, entrancing faculty, and a very sassy squirrel at his side, he's ready to make Taryl his new home.
