Publisher's Summary
A Horus Heresy Audiobook Collection
These stories explore a different view of the Horus Heresy - each one focuses on Space Marines who have cast their legions aside to pursue new missions and goals. Though their deeds are often done in secret, they’ll have profound effects on the course of history.
Listen to it because: Nathaniel Garro and the Knights-Errant offer a tantalising answer to a question many fans of Warhammer 40,000 and the Horus Heresy have asked themselves - did every member of the traitor Legions turn against the Imperium? This collection of stories follows some few Astartes who turned on their Legion rather than their emperor or else became blackshields - renegades in that grey space somewhere between loyalty and betrayal.
Contents:
- Garro: Oath of Moment by James Swallow
- Garro: Legion of One by James Swallow
- Garro: Burden of Duty by James Swallow
- Garro: Sword of Truth by James Swallow
- Garro: Shield of Lies by James Swallow
- Garro: Ashes of Fealty by James Swallow
- Grey Angel by John French
- Blackshields: The False War by Josh Reynolds
- Blackshields: The Red Fief by Josh Reynolds
- Blackshields: The Broken Chain by Josh Reynolds

Near Perfection
With the exception of one story being seemingly out of place in the storyline, this is nearly a perfect experience in the 40k audible world. The sound effects are perfect, the noise-voice-music balance superb. Hoping for more of these collected audio dramas. “Necessity is the mother of invention.”

not bad
I like it but could have used with out the music and added noise. it makes it hard to listen to and follow the music and sound effects are to much and to loud almost ruins the first book.

over achievement failure.
unfortunately this one out of the several I've listened to gets a zip, zilch, nada rating. not so much the story itself or the narration, but the OVER VOLUME BACKGROUND MUSIC AND SOUNDS. You can barely understand the beginning narrative in chapter 1. Do better Warhammer/Black Library. How does one immerse themselves in a novel, seeing the sights and sounds through one's mind, that the narrator is describing about this point or that character WITH A FRONT ROW TO THE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AND A FULL BATTERY OF 155MM ARTILLERY SENDING A FIRE MISSION, at the same time🤦♂️.

Horus Heresy Book 1-3 and THIS
The first three books in the HH series were by far my favorite and set the tone for the Warhammer 40k for me. Amongst the newer additions to the audible collection, this one is probably the best. Great voice acting, great production and excellent story-weaving.

Distracting
Hated the sounds effects and audio in this one. Way to distracting to the story and performances. Such a shame as great stories wanting to be told.

A fantastic listen from being to end.
loved the whole collection from the very beginning to the very end.
The narration and acting as always is very good as I have come to expect from this set of stories about Nathaniel garro and associated storylines.

Truly quite awesome
Absolutely brilliant if you like Warhammer and are generally interested in the loyalist and traitor legions, this collection of books explores that and it is well done, but I suppose I must say the story's in some part used a lot of noises instead of description, although not of the noises that are connected to Warhammer are very iconic but in some parts I did find myself wanting more of clear picture at those times when the sound effects where used instead, but when used in the background absolutely great, not to loud and gives it that iconic imagine of space marines and the many vessels that they use

A great collection...
from some of my favourite side characters of the Horus Heresy.
Great production value, although there's some minor sound quality issues in the Blackshields audio.
