Horribly long boring book! Skip this one please.
Now I truly enjoyed two other books from this author with 5 stars, but for This one fell short repetitive, nothing but fanciful longing from the heroine from page one. An utter twit. I was irritated and truly bored!
This book could have been done in half the time it dragged on and on.
Definitely hated it.
Will be returning this audio book.
I read the authors first and 3 rd gothic novel i believe and they were fantastic!
This one, I noted just not up to par of the other dark gothic series!
Really disappointed!

What a waste of time
This book was boring and repetitive with almost nothing but bland introspection by the heroine. The writing style was very elementary too with all telling and no showing. Boring and a waste of time.

Not as good as the first...
And yet it left me wowed in the last page. Even when the Audible's closing statement was heard, I had to say it out loud, Wow!
Good suspense. Distrust, madness and so many secrets! I thought it could have been longer. Still, a lower rating is unthinkable after that satisfying feeling at the end. Yeah, that epilogue felt abrupt. Simply, wow! In a good way. Hence why I still wonder between 4 or 5 stars rating.
Spoiler: I thought it was a great take on Jane Eyre. Except, I far enjoy this story more. No great tragedy between main characters. Happy.
The Audible narration is another great performance. I can't fully describe it. It makes the story come alive in your mind.
I think this story is available in Audible Escape. Others in series were. After the first book, I had changed my mind and purchased them all.

Great Story
Sweet story with mystery and suspense. I loved the homage made to Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca.

ok
It was okay, particularly loved how well it was written unlike so many chick other chick lits that are tawdry with gratuitous scenes
I just felt the last part was a bit dragging. Like I want to yell at the hero for wasting so much time (SPOILER ALERT) and endless dialogues before he decided he should save someone's life.
I liked Emma but felt her hero was so-so

Horrible book!!
If you are looking for “his strong, masculine form”, “her swollen bosom”, “and such in almost every chapter, then this is the gothic novel for you. If you are expecting an actual mystery romance with minimal level of sense (I honestly only wanted a light summer book) and moderately developed characters - look elsewhere.
The narrator was great to the very end (hat down for that!!)

limited character development
Drawn out too long in minute details that wouldn't carry the story along or bring the reader additional information. Character development was decent but not one intermingled well with the other - hard to recognize or even assume relationships we're being built.

Finding love
This book was well written and narrated. The characters were irritating because they were very secretive. So the mysteries were hard to solve. This is a enjoyable read.
