Story
Think of The War of Art as tough love...for yourself. Since 2002, The War of Art has inspired people around the world to defeat "resistance"; to recognize and knock down dream-blocking barriers and to silence the naysayers within us. Resistance kicks everyone's butt, and the desire to defeat it is equally as universal. The War of Art identifies the enemy that every one of us must face, outlines a battle plan to conquer this internal foe, then pinpoints just how to achieve the greatest success.

Story
Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point: really hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip: a temporary setback that you will overcome if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

Very lightweight, no real advice nor deep thoughts
Not sure why people give 5 stars score. It’s very lightweight book. There are merely a thoughts about approach to success then keys.
Would you see the advice to get more sleep as ground breaking news?
Author talks a lot about his Aikido lessons and how you need to practice and be humble to evolve. A bit about his students at flight school when he put more attention to skilled and less to mediocre.
At the end talks through some breathing exercises - pointless.
The only useful thoughts from this 3 hour read is that if you would like to start to master your skills then you need to remember
A) that it takes time to learn an practice and we live in times when adverts, movies etc shows us that it can be achieve almost instantly, which can be demotivating
B) during your way to your mastery you will get stuck and it will take longer chunks of time to move to another level - but there is no advice how to over come those and keep in mind that all the book is like that - lightweight.
Summary: in 1991 it could be not bad book but in 2019 it simply is not good enough.
There is much more useful content in Brian Tracey productions.

Too much 70s hippy kungfu, not enough mastery
Very disappointed. I had heard good things about this book. The first couple of chapters are interesting, but it's quickly evident that he has nothing of value to say.
To spare you buying the book, all you need to know is: "Practice". When you plateau, enjoy it for its own sake, not what it brings. Don't worry, you'll get there.
