Publisher's Summary

Set on a large ranch in rural upstate New York, it’s early days for the eccentric group of people who call themselves “The Zeta Family” - quite possibly the next big cult phenomenon.

Katie (Amy Goodmurphy), our central protagonist, is an aspiring reporter who has decided to infiltrate the compound, and her future success as a journalist depends entirely on her ability to win the confidence of Zeta Doug (Kevin Nealon), the likable spiritual leader of the group.

He’s like a cross between Hunter S. Thompson and George R. R. Martin, with a little too much sci-fi in his head and acid in his blood stream. Like all good cult leaders, Doug is elusive and mysterious, and Katie quickly begins to wonder if this cult is truly just a gnarly collection of weirdos hanging out in the woods, or is there something else going on here?

My first audible series

This was the first show that I listened to when I joined audible and I got hooked after the first episode . If you want something funny yet relaxing experience , go for this one . While the story isn't really the greatest one out there , the voice acting , jokes and superb narration all in all made this a great package .

Sheer Entertainment

Being a bit shallow I was initially attracted by the cover + I'm fascinated by anything to do with cults
(maybe because I was in one for a while but couldn't take it too seriously so was kicked out).

I'm also a fan of great comedy writing and acting. I was not disappointed.

The Zeta Family ticked all my boxes especially the laugh out loud characters, all of them almost as shallow as I am.

just pure enjoyment from start to finish.

Thanks Audible

Laugh non stop

I really didn't know what to expect but it brought me joy listening to the characters.
I bursted out laughing at some points in the book... Probably people thought something was wrong with me.
I loved it I wish it was longer.

The Over Use Of "What everrrrr"

Didn't make it too far into the first chapter before the ignorant, over 30 yr old females continuous over use of "oh girl you deserve betterrrrr...." and "What everrrrr" got on my last nerve.

Unexpectedly hilarious

I wasn't expecting to like this but it made me laugh so much! There's a bit where one of the Canadians is trying to pronounce a name... I was literally laughing as I walked down the street listening. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the narrator and her introductions which seemed a bit random and pointless. But really enjoyed it overall.

Gets better as is goes along!

I actually fell in love with the concept of the story, which I can't really mention here without giving away the twist of the story, but trust me, it's entertaining. I would love to see this as a movie or TV series, or even a more serious take of the story as a book. The idea is great. But as it stands, this is a well acted and often humorous story, albeit a little short, about a bunch of people in a cult where nothing is as it seems and everybody has a secret. Recommend!
