It is a popular belief that the Ramayana is idealistic while the Mahabharata is realistic. Yet these two epics have identical building blocks, identical themes and identical history. Bhaarteey jeevandhaara mein jin granthon ka mahattvapoorn sthaan hai, unmein puraan, bhakti-granthon ke roop mein bahut mahattvapoorn maane jaate hain. Puraan-saahitya bhaarteey jeevan aur sanskriti kee akshunn nidhi hai. Inmein maanav jeevan ke utkarsh aur apkarsh kee anek gaathayen miltee hain.
