Arabic stories: S1E8: Ramz el Intifada (The Uprising Symbol)

  • Summary

  • Our story today is about an inerasable moment from my childhood, the moment when I first witnessed the murder of Muhammed al Durrah on TV during the second Palestinian Intifada.

    Told in the past tense.

At the end of the story I share a snippet of one of the earliest popular Palestinian Intifada songs dating back to 1987, "Ya Jamaheer el Ard el Mu7talla"- O People of the Occupied Land- written by the Palestinian poet Mohammed 7aseeb el Qaadi and performed by el Firqa el Markaziyya.
