Publisher's Summary

"'There will be three tasks, spaced throughout the school year, and they will test the champions in many different ways...their magical prowess - their daring - their powers of deduction - and, of course, their ability to cope with danger.'"

The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Only wizards who are over seventeen are allowed to enter - but that doesn't stop Harry dreaming that he will win the competition. Then at Hallowe'en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons, and dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through - alive!

Theme music composed by James Hannigan.

Great 👍 Audiobook

The Book was excellent. It's the Harry Potter Series and its by JK Rowling, what can we say about it.

Awesome narration by Stephen Fry.

He used different voices to mimic different characters which is just mind blowing.

Absolutely loved the book.

Great choice for the Potterheads

it's the best bang for the buck

A wonderful reread

Having already read the Harry Potter books in my teen years, I've found listening to the audio books a wonderful way of reconnecting with the story. Stephen Fry is a fantastic narrator.

Great!

The story is growing as is Harry. Maturing into more serious and darker themes. Powerful performance by Stephen Fry.

Stephen Fry Rules

Every character in the books comes to life because of him.
I have no words to describe the series .

Narrator does it outstandingly.

Accent is great.
however,
there were few queries I want to point put to.
1) Approximately 2-3 characters (like Hagrid, Moody and few others) narrated by Stephen fry, sounded exactly the same, which caused a confusion sometimes.
2) His try for imitating the girls' voice we're good but they can do better. 👍
Overall Satisfactory.

An imagination adventure

It is very good. If you imagine the story while reading it you will go trough what Harry Potter is going trough. It has many discriptive words and is recommended for young audience.

Excellent storytelling!

Goblet of fire is more elaborate and in depth than the earlier three books. It dwelves into J.K Rowling's magical world and narrates an incomparable masterpiece.

This is the book that shifts into the darker part of the story. No longer is Harry Potter a children's book, it's turned into a deep dark magical world.

EXCELLENT!

Well I've come to realize that every small thing happening in Harry Potter world in every chapter has some connection with the later ones, should appreciate how beautifully the story is written every single incident is so important to keep up with the story & can't more thanks to Stephen Fry for narrating them in such good sense.
Talking about the story unlike the previous 3books of Harry Potter this book is a bit slow in the beginning but as the story advances it eventually begins to make connections, I personally completed it in 3days probably the best audiobook ever read.
Looking forward to get done with the remaining books in Harry Potter series.
Thanks Audible, JK Rowling, Fry!

Stephen Fry Delivered It at His Best (again)

Ever since I knew audible book, Stephen Fry is one of my favorite story readers. He differentiate his voice for so many roles. I enjoyed every story and I was brought to the set. Never failed.
Harry Potter is one among favorite books and JK Rowling is at her best when she created the whole set.
The graveyard scene is thrilling, and heart breaking at the same time.

Great performance

Stephen Fry as always does a great job performing this book, though it is one of the weakest of the series. The plot is sluggish and has glaring holes and the main characters' behavior is irrational and annoying.

Awesome

I have to confess I read the books 1 to 3 and than just watched the series of movies. I´m really glad I decided to hear the audiobook because there is a LOT to the stories that aren't on the movies. I see the world created by J.K. Rowling with other eyes now.

Magnificent

I've watched the 8 Harry Potter movies, but I've always wanted to read the books. The movies were great, but it always felt like the pace was off or like important plot points had been dropped behind the scenes. The book has absolutely no issues. I never thought I would like The Goblet of Fire as much as I do now. It's perfect in every way.

Absolutely Amazing

I’ve listened to this whole series about 3 times and read all the books twice, and they are the absolute bomb!! I Couldn’t suggest a better book! Steven Fry’s voice is perfect for the story. It is so clever of audible to make a sleep timer, every night I put it on for 15 minutes and it puts me to sleep straight away. I am a TRUE Harry Potter fan.

Stephen Fry is the best narrator ever.

We all know the books are good, and the movies are quite good too. But I think Stephen's audio rendition is better than either of those. He breathes nuance and life into the text in a way that has to be heard to be believed.

Seriously Good Potter!

This is the book where I think JK Rowling really decided to get a bit more serious. If the previous book had a slightly harder edge this took that further and added more depth and sophistication. While the opening books were genuinely full of child-like joy and adventure this one upped the ante considerably. Of course this one is still full of the by now expected warm humour and interplay between the characters plus the clever placing of traditional fantasy ideas of wizardry into the modern world. This is still about schoolchildren growing up and their relationships with each other and their teachers as well as all the sorcery. The humanity of the books and the way they reflect some of the serious, and also some of the less serious issues within our modern societies remains and is developed still further.

The story does take its time in building to a climactic battle and includes a few quite unexpected twists, not much is quite as it seems at Hogwarts! The tri-wizard cup is a major feature and includes some of the most exciting scenes in the Harry Potter series particularly I thought the second task which takes place under water.

For those who have previously only come to Harry Potter via the films then this audiobook will be a huge treat. The films were excellent but there is so much more to discover in this volume. Notable parts that were missing from the film include the Quidditch World Cup Final match, Hermione’s civil rights campaign and lots of trademark Rowling character interactions which explain them and what they do in much greater depth. They do make the story considerably longer but it never drags as a result! This is of course in part due to the excellence of Mr Fry. I will admit that I can’t help thinking about the deliciously evil Alan Rickman delivering Severus Snape’s sardonic malevolence but in truth Stephen Fry carries the stories as beautifully as I can imagine a single narrator being capable of.

Once again, in summary, a quite delightful use of a credit!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire...

Any additional comments?

As always with this series, Stephen Fry is a fantastic narrator. There are a few moments where the character voices blend but given the sheer number of characters in this book this is hardly surprising. Amazing story,

Well written. Well read

Much more exciting than the previous novel, but also more sinister. Fry does an excellent job reading this and manages to bring suspense and anticipation and a whole host of emotions felt by various characters really come through. Fry also manages to provide a myriad of voices to bring his telling to life - everything from the Beaubaton and Durmstrang students to Death Eaters and house elves, all have their own unique voice in this telling. Definitely the best so far

Still so good

I've read and listened and watched this story so many times, but every time when Harry is recounting the events in the graveyard and when Mrs Weasley is comforting him, these scenes always make me cry. They are so well written, JK has done an amazing job of portraying how Harry was feeling without getting maudlin, really putting you in the situation.

This story is when the real darkness starts, the fear that everyone feels about Voldemort, and a glimpse of the determination to deal with what's to come.

All wonderful until skipping 10 hours in...

What made the experience of listening to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Book 4 the most enjoyable?

I love these books and was so excited to see them on Audible, and cannot fault the narration, story at all. My review is to warn people and perhaps audible of the skipping of the track during the first task. Between 10:03:48 for a few minutes. I have deleted and redownloaded but this still occurs. Disappointing and distracting, but at least it is not too long. I am yet to listen if this reoccurs in the rest of the book.

Fantastic

I have enjoyed every single second of this book. Stephen Fry has done it again. His mastery of voices and accents makes you forget you're listening to the book being read by one man. Amazing talent. Thoroughly enjoyable. Of course he has fantastic material to work with, JK Rowling's writing is clever, witty and pure imagination. Wonderful
