Publisher's Summary

Axis is Jinnah, periphery is 1905-1947

Authentic, balanced, interesting garland of historical development of Pakistan. Author is more over unbiased towards the partition story. Maintained balance with all personalities, however Nehru looks immature according to the author.

excellent articulation of a complex topic

Author and narrator have done an excellent job of bringing out chronological unfolding of events, machinations of the British, frailties and personal choices and aspirations of the key personalities who were involved or rather who orchestrated the partition of India to gain in their political careers and affecting millions of the countrymen women children. This book alongwith Dominique Lapierre's Freedom at Midnight must be made essential part of history learning curriculum at middle school level across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. though a long book but it maintains pace, interest, and language that were necessary to correctly articulate for easy understanding of the masses.

A good read.

A good read for those who are interested in history.
Few chapters/facts - specially those highlighting 'timeline' of partition should get place in highschool study.
