A powerful 'tail' 😁 .. a bit allegorical too

A powerful 'tail' 😁 .. a bit allegorical too perhaps.

More than once, did I get the feeling - when listening to the first 4 chapters - that the author was drawing some sort of an allegorical parallel. Buck's plight, struggle and triumph seemed altogether similar to those of the peoples who were sold into slavery and who toiled without relent or succour but achieved a sort of victory at the end.

John Lee's reading was better here than what I found when he'd read The Three Musketeers and the sequential stories thereafter. Perhaps the effort to sound a bit French was making him read those stories with too much pomp and grandeur which he didn't need here. This said, he seemed to be reading this story with a taut jaw and a stiff upper lip.. his reading was a little more grand than was needed for the story.

But oh.. what a story. A marvelous telling of the power and majesty of an Alaskan Husky mixed with a Bernard - the mind whirls to comprehend the sight of such a beast.

This story is a must read / must hear for every generation and age!
