Publisher's Summary

Day of Infamy is Walter Lord's gripping, vivid re-creation of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Sunday, December 7, 1941. The listener accompanies Admiral Nagumo's task force as it sweeps toward Hawaii; looks on while warning after warning is ignored on Oahu; and is enmeshed in the panic, confusion, and heroism of the final attack.

Sort of a skewed perspective...

While this narrative spoke in good detail of what happened.. it seemed to have brushed past or breezed over the Japanese side of the story and concentrated heavily, as most have on the American interest. So, it isn't your most balanced view but a darn good one if you want to know what happened on the ground on that fateful day (for both sides in the battle).

The reading was mellifluous.
