very good insights
very good book. I could relate a lot of things which goes on in my brain. This book also recalled a lot of my childhood memory. It made me emotional. Read this only if you like a trip through your memory lanes

Finally got the answers to all the questions
"Being different " is always challenging. As a HSP(Highly Sensitive Person) it is a painful struggle to get to hold of your lives events. This is a book with good scientific study records, no blabbering about "positive energy". A thousand thanks to Mrs. Aron for taking this initiative to write down her own experiences which is ultimately helpful for many of us like her. The narrator was also very soothing. God bless them both. Only knowing better about the trait can lead hsp's to a better future. Please be kind and understanding of each other. It is the only way for a better humanity.

Recommended for caregivers
I would highly recommend this book to caregivers like me who are struggling to understand what their loved ones are going through on a daily basis. it's very important to become knowledgeable of their unique nature and only then we can help them.
I would probably listen to this number of times so that I can remind myself on how to help my loved one.

Very revealing and enlightening!
After struggling with what I now know is an hsp condition since childhood, this book was a total revelation in revealing the source of my troubles. A weight lifted from my shoulders knowing I'm not alone and my perceived shortcomings aren't necessarily a weakness but can be a strength. My only criticism is that I didn't come away with any real strategy for overcoming the many challenges being an hsp presents, just a deep understanding of what being an hsp entails.

One of my best reads yet
What a fine piece of work! It's great to know such detail of research and interest has gone into discovering and understanding people like myself. Dr Aron's book has greatly helped me to understand myself a lot better, and just changes things for me in such a positive way. Thank you!

Not convinced by the concept
Struggled with the frequent repetition of "arousal" and "trait" and the constant describing of hyper sensitivity like a super power. Not convinced by it being a binary thing as in you are or are not an HSP. Much of what is described sounds like introversion as opposed to something different.

Patronising tone
I personally found the tone patronising and overly biased towards highly sensitive people.
Part of the research is based on anecdotal, personal stories and experience. There’s no meaningful to verify it and perhaps draw different conclusions.
I also was surprised and in many ways disappointed about the overwhelming amount of spirituality and religion.
Overall I would not recommend this book if you prefer an unbiased outlook based on evidence and facts.

Workplaces need to read this!
At last! Some insight into HSPs. Fascinating, fun and frank. I enjoyed this book. Slight nasal tone to reader though (sorry HSP to sound).

Warming and comprehensive look at hypersensitives
I quite enjoyed this book. As an HSP, I found it a reassuring and reaffirming voyage through many perspectives and angles. The author helped put the field on the map and her advice is precise and, of course, superbly researched - if at times a little wishy-washy and abstract - no doubt a harder look at cold evidence, for example, brain scans and the like, would have added a more scientific and beneficial stand point.

Somewhat triggering
Listening to examples of other people's childhood trauma was not what I expected, even though they were relatively short parts of the book, they then stayed in the mind as the chapter went on.

A great journey in getting to know and understand myself.
I found this book incredibly helpful in learning about myself and coming to terms with my sensitive nature. So many past experiences can be understood now.
If you believe you are a sensitive person this book will greatly improve your self awareness.

A shining light on an under acknowledged people
Thank you for this, I've always been aware I was sensitive but I felt as though I was almost being read like a book. Giving me a greater understanding and appreciation for what I am as a person. I recommend this to anyone that feels like a bit of an oddball or black sheep, this will most likely help you in your journey.

Very Interesting
I listened to this book after reading The Highly Sensitive Child which I also enjoyed. I was worried the content might double up but it didn't and I found both books to be well worth the time.

Understand HSP’s
Helped me understand and embrace myself as a HSP. Would be great if non HSPs read this to understand us better.
